NIPER, Ahmedabad : Proposed Action plan for Swachh Bharat (2015-2019)
Our Motto: Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat
India has launched a nationwide cleanliness initiative in the form of "Swachh Bharat Mission” focusing on improvement in cleanliness and hygiene in urban and rural areas, in work places and homes etc. Swacch Bharat Abhiyan is a platform where all of us have
a chance to participate. Jointly we can all really do wonders without any additional help or investment. We can be sure that if we embrace the concept of Swachhta - Cleanliness will soon become a daily norm and we all will be able to contribute in every way
to make India a Cleaner, Greener and Beautiful place to live in.
NIPER, Ahmedabad as an Institute engaged in health care education and research, is committed to play an important role in this national endeavor that will inculcate lasting and permanent behavioral change in the society towards cleanliness. NIPER, Ahmedabad
believes that the young students can play a vital role in achieving the "Swachh Bharat” as well as become ambassadors of cleanliness in their homes and communities. Accordingly, we are in the process of implementing a set of activities that were initiated
as part of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. The thrust of our activities is centered in and around Ahmedabad. We are in the process of forming Committees comprising of faculties, staff and students to monitor various activities at different locations. They will carry
out timely checks and ensure that all the activities are carried out properly and ly.
In order to ensure continued momentum on the campaign various other activities are being planned throughout the year. In line with the Hon'ble PM's "Swacch Bharat Mission 2014 -19" NIPER-G has devised an action plan which is reflected below:

- Ensure cleaning by the teachers, staff and students in campus: the class rooms, library, laboratories, toilets and drinking water areas, canteen, kitchen sheds and stores, garden and playground area
- To ensure collection of garbage, safe transportation and scientific disposal of waste.
(September - December)
- Arrange Swachh Mission walk/run with slogans and placards
- Logo of the Mission will be printed on future letter heads, file covers, display boards, dustbins etc.
- Organize essay/debate competitions on cleanliness and hygiene

- Floors to have banners/sheets for display of the messages to encourage employees and students
- Arrange lecture on Swachhata by internal personnel
(July – December)
Sensitization on issues of personal hygiene in public : Organize camp at nearby slum area to educate people and motivate for implementation of the following
- Provide information about Swachh Bharat Mission
- How to maintain personal hygiene
- The importance of hand washing, deworming in children and its benefit
- To maintain environmental hygiene both at the household and at the community level
- Separate Dry waste and wet waste in your house; ease the work of municipality workers
- Various aspects related to Sanitation
- How to discourage spitting at public place
- Educate to avoid usage of plastic bags, disposables

- Organize painting competitions on cleanliness and hygiene
- Arrange lecture on Swachhata by external personnel

Sensitization on issues of personal hygiene in public : Organize camp at nearby village area to educate rural people and motivate for implementation of the following

- How to maintain personal hygiene
- The importance of hand washing, deworming in children and its benefit
- To maintain environmental hygiene both at the household and at the community level
- Separate Dry waste and wet waste in your house; ease the work of municipality workers

- The importance of hand washing, deworming in children and its benefit
- To maintain environmental hygiene both at the household and outside
- Various aspects related to Sanitation
- Hygiene tips for protection against diseases
Educate to avoid usage of plastic bags, disposables
