Vision 
Mission The visionary augmentation of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India has recognised NIPER-Ahmedabad as Centre of Excellence in Medical Devices through the gazette of India on 16th August 2023. This centre at NIPER-Ahmedabad will elucidate the objectives are aligned with the overarching goals of the Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma-MedTech (PRIP) scheme and the mandate of the Department of Pharmaceuticals. This centre will build specific research capacities in the field of medical devices and provide testing facilities in the field of therapeutic implants, diagnostics, and drug-device combinations. The centre will also provide need-based courses and skill development training programs for continuing education.
To be a widely recognised and sought-after centre of excellence offering 360° support and services in medical device and related technologies.
- To establish an industry – academia – research interface for medical device and related technologies through effective collaborations.
- Provide education and training through specifically curated certificate courses and training programmes.
- To establish clusters of medical device technology with shared facilities by creating an ecosystem to benefit entrepreneurs / SMEs.
- To provide training and short-term courses as per industry requirement.
- To support translational research project as per contemporary and futuristic industry requirements.
- To provide testing and validation facilities along with consultancy as per the regulatory norms and guidelines.
- To help start-ups and entrepreneurs with the required incubation support and facilities and IPR.
- Identify research gaps and testing bottlenecks and propose evidence-based validated quality assurance solutions.
