Key Research Areas

To create and establish an ecosystem and infrastructure development for industry sponsored and in house Research and Development in Diagnostics ( High end imaging, Bioelectronics, IVDs) Implants (Therapeutics/Restorative/Regeneration/Artificial organ) and Drug Device combination sector of medical devices.

Through the CoE we will conduct joint R&D projects with industry in the field of high end imaging devices, bio electronics, implants, biosensors, diagnostics, and electrical prosthetic devices.

We will collaborate with industries and other stake holder to develop innovative implant devices, biosensors, wearables, diagnostics, bioelectronics, and prosthetics devices based on laboratory research leads and take it up to TLR level 5/6.

Testing

The CoE engages to establish and develop testing facilities in implant and diagnostic medical devices and its components. The testing facility relevant for Electronic and biosensor devices, Mechanical testing of orthopedic implants and its components, Chemical testing of all types of implants and devices, Biocompatibility testing of devices both in vitro and in vivo, IVD testing facilities shall be out-sourced to the industry stake holders.

Training

Offering short term certificate courses and training programs to fulfill the need of medical device industries on regulations, high end technologies, medical device designing, bio designing, bio electronic devices etc. Trainings shall be provided fr various guidelines like MDR 2017, ISO 13485:2016, ISO 14971:2019, ISO/TR20416:2020, IEC 62304:2006, EU MDR, QMSR, MDSAP, Schedule-M, GLP etc.
